We’re going to be talking a lot about mistakes.
It is, after all, where all the learning happens.
Today, the teachers were together, cutting our cow patches out of fake leather, for the kids to use to cover their new History books. I stepped in to help. After cutting out my first one, one of my teachers leaned in and picked up my contribution. She started to ‘fix’ it.
Never, ever make someone else’s work ‘better’. Especially not a child. They don’t see it as help, they see it as them not being good enough.
We sorted ourselves out, because, well, we’re adults. But kids don’t have those skills yet.
